  • Introduces new unsafe blocks inside new UninitSlice constructors, but these replace existing equivalent unsafe blocks that were directly constructing UninitSlice.
  • Adds unsafe impl BufMut for &mut [core::mem::MaybeUninit<u8>], which is implemented almost identically to the existing unsafe impl BufMut for &mut [u8].

Adds a mem::forget as part of avoiding Vec::into_boxed_slice when it would reallocate. I checked that the required semantics of mem::forget are maintained, but it seems like ManuallyDrop should also work here and be compatible with their MSRV.
