This is my crate. This version, 0.29.2, brings us to Rust 2018. This library is still unstable and going to have dramatic API changes over the next several versions, but to the best of my knowledge it has no security issues.

I have been working six months now on crates in the github.com/rust-bitcoin organisation, to the best of my knowledge this crate is secure.
Crates in the crates.io registry are tarball snapshots uploaded by crates' publishers. The registry is not using crates' git repositories. There is absolutely no guarantee that the repository URL declared by the crate belongs to the crate, or that the code in the repository is the code inside the published tarball.
To review the actual code of the crate, it's best to use cargo crev open bitcoin
. Alternatively, you can download the tarball of bitcoin v0.32.5 or view the source online.
I've been working as a maintainer of this crate for the last year, to the best of my knowledge it has no security flaws
